My parents are adopting a Russian orphan

my parents have decided to adopt (and yes, they have consulted me) a russian orphan that is 14 now, but when he turns 15 he will be thrown out to the streets. So we are adopting him. I plan to download a LOT of translators so we can communicate!!!

What do you mean by he will be thrown on to the streets?

what he means is that they adopted him because the orphanage was going to throw him out at the age of 15.

Oh I thought that you meant that once he comes here he will be thrown on the streets at age of 15. It totally didn't make sense to me. I just couldn't understand what he was saying.

A noble deed indeed.

A quote from one Bible-related web-page;

"What does God think of those who neglect the poor, widows, and orphans? Isaiah 1:23-25; Jeremiah 5:28-29; 7:3-7; Malachi 3:5; James 4:17; Proverbs 3:27-28; I Timothy 5:8.

Comments: This world’s leaders have written a long record of neglect of those in need. Isaiah tells us their greed causes them to give favor to the wealthy, who can fill their pockets. The widow and the fatherless stand in a special relation of nearness to God, who is "a father of the fatherless, a defender of widows" (Psalm 68:5). To neglect or take advantage of them greatly angers God. Wisdom and understanding dictate that we should not withhold from them or delay giving to them when we can help them now."

I've got one workmate, who's origin is Russian. We communicate in English..

Well all i can say is:

There is hope for the humanity after all..

Im sure this is gonna take some sacrifice from all parties involved
but always think about the possibility that you could have been in his shoes.

i hope you and your little russian "brother" hit it off well.

Im thinking of adopting myself.....but i cant handle someone that old yet(i mean ill have to share my pc and thats the hard part..hehe).

I studied Russian for 3 years and you're right it is really difficult.
I actually got turned down for a job at British Nuclear Fuels due to my 3 years study of the language.

Maybe they thought that because he learned the language, he might be a russian sympathiser and tell em about their nuclear secrets

They didn't exactly tell me, but my mates dad was a manager there and he told me that my education would count against me.
Also, I visited Russia on a school holiday so that didn't go down too well. I knew I shouldn't have worn my fur hat for the interview.
I was probably just too thick but the Russian excuse sounds better.
