"Review Sites" turning petty
I'm getting really sick and tired of these "so and so did this, but so and so did even worse!" review sites. HardOCP is currently my main peeve, I used to love going there! Now they're just in this war with seemingly everyone else over "who's more REAL..."
EGADS! I know none of these unprofessional computer geeks are REAL computer component advisors...they get paid by ads and get their hardware free from the companies...I just try and gain the facts from everywhere, and it's harder to do that when it seems all they care about anymore is "being real" and proving it by pointing out other "less real" "review" sites! ARGH ARGH! |

Review sites, as a whole, seem to have lately started looking like large advertisements for all the hardware companies.
It is really getting difficult to find a good, top notch review that actually tells you what you want to know about a product. |

well regardless of whether the recent HARDOCP P4 review "scandal" was accidential as I feel it was (as Kyle makes his living from that site and I cant see him wanting to lose that) it has done alot of damage.
Why? well more for the fact of the way people were treated on the forum with the bannings and removing of posts. That was really quite poorly handled IMO. quite alot of older dedicated board members got the boot, something which I dont agree on. Freedom of speech is important. Even if you dont agree with someone, that is their opinion, something that has to be respected. |

I don't think I trust any SITE...
...but I have started trusting a number of people I've known thru the boards for a while when they give their opinion. I try and judge on an individual basis rather than what tagline they're writing under. (And I just don't GO to [h] anymore, ever!
 )

 You know what I want to see? Giant charts of comparisons...like processors from 1.4ghz to 3.06ghz...along with graphics cards from Geforce 256s to Geforce FX's...man...massive charts all showing the performance differences.... It would be the most worthwhile thing I've ever seen anyone..uh...do...damn, grammar is hard speaking in the past tense about future stuff! argh! |
