Ebay, Cars and You!

Well guys this is something I've always been thinking about. What are your opinions about buying used cars through ebay. Have you yourself bought one or do you know of someone who has? What was your or /his/her's experiences? Would you recommend buying a used car through ebay to anyone? Also, what are your opinions about buying a car from someone out of state?

one of my friends almost bought a car through ebay. I went with him to go look at the car. We went to a public location where we all met up at, we both looked at the car and were discussing financing options. He took it out for a test drive and fell in love with the car. He ended up not buying the car though because the person's reserve price had been met, and the reserve price was way higher than what he could afford.

yea. The seller lived in the Los Angeles area, and my buddy and i live in the San Bernardino area. It was only a 45min. drive to go meet the seller.

I would only buy a car through ebay if I could first go inspect the car- so it would have to be local. Basically treating ebay for car buying as I would the local news paper ads.

Buying site-unseen is asking for problems. Buying outside state lines isn't a problem, just be aware of that state's "lemon laws"... for instance I live in NY and have bought cars from PA.. the lemon laws are different there.

my friend bought a used car off of ebay for like $2k. the seller was in massachusetts and he lives in NJ. so he drove up there and picked it up.

actually know a couple of mates who have bought cars via ebay on more than one occaision......everyone has turned out to be lemons...

ebay is great for cheap(ish) goods but this is one area i avoid.

So are lemons good or bad?? Because i personally like lemons and have nothing against them. although i know there are alot of lemons haters, but wat else am i suppose to put in my ice tea??? please tell me!

Lemons= sour

sour= bad

bad= Avoid

Avoid= keep youre cash in the pocket..

Lemon is a term used in my local area for cars that are just simply put into this description,ready for the scrapyard or junkyard for you US peeps..

Yeah, its not like the car my friend bought was brand new or anytihng. it was a 1994 ford probe GT and it had like 135,000 mi. its a nice lil car, he still has it, and from what i hear it pretty fun to drive

. he bought a turbo for it but doesnt have any money left to get it installed. once that gets put in its gonna be lil speed machine
