anybody affected by Dennis

any of you guys affected by Hurricane Dennis? I was not, but I have family out there in the area. I need to call them and find out how they are doing.

The only affect that it's had on me was a funny news cast that I came in on the middle of. The reporter is standing in front of a destroyed house saying "...some people say they eat too much, some people say they drink too much, and everyone has had enough of Dennis. Back to you Joan."

I lol'ed for about 5 mintues.

Here in the Atlanta area we're having flooding like nothing else before. Many people have had their homes condemned (at least temporarily) while damages have to be assessed. Some have already been determined to be beyond repair and will have to be torn down.

The tragedy of all this is that, almost no one has flood insurance. The state is already making assessments and declaring some areas a disaster area. That should help some of these people to get back on their feet. In most cases, they'll at least have housing accommodations for 90 days. I'm not sure what the circumstances are after that.

What has compounded the problem here is all the rain from both Cindy and Dennis within a week of one another. Some streams have yet to crest from all the rain.

Prayers and thoughts to all those affected.

One of my co-workers was in Cuba when the thing hit. Sounds like he had a blast!

the worst part is i have a co worker who is HORIBLE! and his name... is Dennis. Hmmm too much in common.

im psyched man, i cant wait for this thing to generate some waves for me. its been totally flat for the past two weeks, with some knee to waist waves every now and then dependin on the wind. im dyin over here just itchin to get in the water with my board. bring it on bitches, im ready for ya

Sorry to hear that Neon but I have never had any good dealings with tigerdirect. I myself avoid them like the plague.

As for hurricane Dennis I live in Kentucky so we have dealt with 5 days straight of drizzling rain. What a great week to be on vacation

I am glad though we did not nor will ever have to deal with a hurricanes full assualt.
