9700 pro what to do

well i just got a 9700 pro and i am feeling like shit to spend that kind of money for a graphics card. i have not even put it in yet it is stil in the box. i wanted a 9500 pro but no one has them in stock so i said to hell with it and bought the 9700. (i know listen to this guy bitch about having a great card) but i dont know maybe i need some convincing as too why i should keep this card? besides the obvious reasons.i guess i am just thinking too much on the price.

Dude, put it in, load your favorite game, turn up AA / AF and just look at your screen Also go get the DX9 demos from ati.com. It's an awesome card, but it's not any better than a R7000 if you don't play any games with it.

Just install it and enjoy

I'm in the same position at the moment, I know the 9700 is king

of the hill and I'm tempted to just say "feck the

expense" and order one.

toddsmack2k, I don't know from where you hail, but most places in America are insane about customer service. You should be able to return it, even if it was opened. I DO understand your frustration and guilty feelings -- I get them a lot myself. I will say this: if you don't feel the card was worth it, you will never be comfortable with that purchase and you will probably never enjoy the card. So see if you can return it even if its opened, and then try it out!

Did you actually pay retail price for it? Or did you buy it online for a lower price?

OPEN THE BOX!!!!

You're going to have to pay a restocking fee if you decide to return it...might as well check it out anyways.

/me will be back in the US in the end of Februrary for a few weeks and am really praying for a nice sale/rebate deal to pick one up.... And toddsmack, kiss your wife for "letting" you buy a GREAT! card! open it up man!!

I'm pretty sure BB charges a 15% restocking fee for open electronic items. Though some items can only be exchanged and not returned (games, software, etc..) then again, there is some seven days (or 14 or something like that..) after purchase to be completely satisfied deal too... times a wasting, open it up and give it a go...

If you usually keep your graphics cards for quite a while, my advice is to keep it. The 9700 will take anything you can throw at it for the next 2 years at least, unless of course the rest of your system is lagging behind.

what is your current GPU? and you may put it in immediately but removing old driver CRAP and reg cleaning etc will follow.... Suggest making a post in driver section for peoples suggestion on how to prep your system before just sticking the new r9700 in...
