Cool AMD Processors

As many of you know, I moved to the grand state of Arizona about four months ago to attend ASU. Anyway, without a car in the US, I've been kind of out of the loop as far as knowing what kind of computer parts are in stores and such. But, right now, I am back home in Japan, and got the chance to go to some of my old haunts (i.e., computer stores) today. I saw some cool AMD processors! For example, boxed 1700+s for $66 that were Throroughbreds! And an AXP 1800+ Mobile. The chip was in Socket A format, so it'd work in standard motherboards, and boasts an impressive 35W heat dissipation along with an unbelievably small core! That is awesome.

Maybe I'm getting excited over nothing, but it was cool to see some cool --in a way, literally-- CPUs up close for the first time in a while.

Actually, DE, if you want me to get one of those procs, I could either send it to you through the US Military's mail service (which is just an extended USPS -- it is excellent and costs no more) or just send it to you once I get back to Arizona. The 1700+ Thoroughbreds were about $66 and the mobile 1800+ was $111.00.
