Next stage in life
I had my the first of my final exams at school today. It made me think, that in two weeks, after 13 years of the routine, i will never have to put on my school uniform, never have to go to classes there, and never have to put up with that annoying kid that sounds like darth vader
It's also made me wonder about what next year will be like. For those that have done it, and remember - ost some of your transition stories from high school into the real world, or the world of tertiary study(Uni, tafe etc)

college/university is more fun, less stressful, and in general, not much harder
![]() Thge "real world" won't really kick in until you move out, as "mom's house" provides shelter from far more then just the elements And most importantly....any mistakes you make now, you write off as "young and stupid".......5-10 years from now they become "irresponsible and a lack of discipline/character"....so if you have anything off the wall you wanna do/try/buy....this would be the time

Can't say I have too many good stories to post but I do miss my high-school and colege days. Things just seemed so much simpler back then: no taxes, rent, groceries or credit cards stacking up. Not having to worry about losing my job and what I'll be wearing tomorrow. Ugh. I miss those days.

I was kicked out of high school 3 times before I was 16 and now allowed to return for one year for a little scandel that in retrospect was mild in comparison to what happens today in schools, but I was tutored for one year and went to night classes while I worked, and I wanted that diploma so bad, just to prove to my parents that the money they spent on private education wasnt wasted. I had wasted two years just having fun, using booze and drugs to piss away the precious years I needed to get the edge and go to college. I regret wasting my parents money, but I had a hell of a good time.
It reminds me of a song... It's a hard knock life...

Well I realized something the other day.
see I hated school...so I quit when I was about 9. I just said "SCREW YOU, MR ESTABLISHMENT!" Anyway I started college when I was 16 and just now I'l realizing that I'm going to be finishing law school at the same time as all of my friends will be finishing their undergraduate work. I had to ask myself...did I miss out on something here? I dont think I did...but maybe I haven't experienced life enough at the right times. Well anyway my point is, have LOTS of fun in college. Dont screw off, but since you've been wearing a uniform to school...I'd guess that you're probably pretty damned bright already.

after i left HS, i went straight to Cal-Poly Pomona (one of the best engineering schools here in So. Cali). Having no real goals in school, i played around more than i should have, and got kicked out. Now, i'm going to a lame JC in my area which i don't like because of my foolishness.
As long as you have a good head on your shoulders, you shouldn't have any problems in life

My Two Cents
Like a lot of people, I went straight into college after high school. Yay! No mom, no rules. Drinking, girls, drugs. Yay!
So anyway, I got crappy grades and left school for a while (two years). Worked a minimum wage job at a pizza place, went to the beach almost every day. Drinking, girls, drugs. Yay again! It was great for a while, but then got old. I got "freedom" out of my system, and got tired of punching a clock for a guy who couldn't think his way out of a paper bag. That was the real eye opener. . .and that's when I was READY for college. Went back, got all A's. Take some time off, get your own place, see how the wage slaves live for a while. It will be fun for you, and it will put your educational responsibilities in proper perspective. That way, when you get to college, you will appreciate the opportunity you are getting, and you won't squander it. There is no need to hurry, take a breath! Good luck whatever you do, and congrats. rasta

Ahh, the after school days...it's like a whole other life. I personally don't miss the school days that much, besides playing sports there. College/Uni was ok, but if you go, make sure to go to one away from your hometown, as it will prepare you for the real world much better, and you'll be forced to meet new people.
Life gets better after school imo; you have as much freedom as you like, you get to work for a living, and feel good about doing it (at least I do..I hated leeching from mom and dad).

im not 100% positive, but i think you need to stay in the country for the first year out of boot. if thats true, that gives him about 6 months of control of me from over seas, and that provideing i even leave the country in that time. got a friend thats been out of boot for about 18 months now and he hasnt left the country yet.
