Need a Signature?

It seems that most peeps within this forum are without 'image signatures'.
Maybe this is the style of this particular forum!!
If anyone however wishes to acquire one I would be happy to help them out.
Let me know what type of signature you require and I will do my best to desgin one specific to your needs

All I ask is that you can host your own image file on your own server
Anyone looking FREE WEBSPACE to host pics can Check Here on that particular subject

Here are a few examples of signatures I have created for other users on other forums-

I have a family crest, with associated writing in Japanese, that I want to make into my avatar and my sig, however, I have no image processing programs beyond Windows Paint

... I have a picture of the crest here:

and I was wondering if you could help me blacken the blacks, whiten the whites, sharpen up the edges a bit, fix the angle (since I took the picture from about 3 feet below the picture) then size it down into a sig (with the crest in the middle, the writing on both sides, and nothing else in my sig...)... I have more detailed closeup pictures of the writing if they would be useful and a more face-on picture of the crest somewhere without as much distortion... I think I'll just scale the face-on one down to 64x64 in Paint and go through with a paintbrush and fix up the coloring so the whites are white and the blacks are black... Thank you for any help you can provide! I'll owe you one!

it is possible to work from the picture you have supplied however, it would be helpful if you could send or post me the other pics you speak about. They may well be better to work from

These two are of the writing - the lighting was too bright for the second one, but there wasn't anything I could do about it - I either used a flash or got an insanely grainy picture with this particular digital camera, and I decided on the latter...

This one is a more headon picture, much better, though it still has some distortion and there is a line where the glass reflection showed the light and lit white ceiling and the dark unlit furniture underneath, causing some linage... though I'm sure you can see it...

If you ever need anything URWORSTENEMY, just tell me! I'll owe you one! (And yes, I am working on that MOHAA server... I just need to :Find: spearhead and mohaa installation discs so I can put it on a new install and update)

Oh, what program are you using? I'm in a position to buy a friend's copy of Jasc 7, but I don't know if its worth it for $30... and also, could you make it a 100x300 sig instead of the smaller one meant for use with text? I don't really need text down in my sig - my current text is useless, and I think that to get the fine detail on the fans and writing, you sorta need a bigger sig... again, thanks!

I love japanese writing, ive a few tattoos with plain black japanese writing, its such a beautiful language. now I just need to learn it (something ive always meant to do!).

toshiro can you explain what the writing means in those pictures or perhaps you could give a crash course in the language in the off topic someday.

Well, to be perfectly honest, I don't know what the writing in the pictures means

The problem is that all Japanese names (in this case, the family name on my Japanese side) are written in Kanji - however, all Kanji have multiple pronunciations, not all of them explicitly stated any particular place, so what one normally does for a name is they take a bunch of kanji whose definition when used normally is wanted, then they impose their own pronunciation on them... making any Japanese name extremely hard to understand. I will ask the last fluent speaker on this side of the coast in my family to explain the writing the next time I see him...

And I will get around to that crash course in Japanese - just remember that if you really want to learn a language, the only way to go is to get a textbook with CD's of native speakers with it

It is best ToshiroOC if you do host it yourself

I need to keep the bandwidth to a minimum on the site that i use.
The site belongs to a family friend and i dont want to use up all her allocated bandwith

I can host it until you set up some free web space.

PS: I think the crest on a transparent background looks very effective and unusual. A nice change from the usual framed sigs

I agree - I tinkered with background colors, and I couldn't think of anything that worked better with the blue than transparent - I also tried filling in the white inside the crest with transparent, but then the whole thing seemed to get too dark and lose definition, so I let it be

EDIT: I was also pretty surpised at how small the file was! It's only like 3kb - minimal bandwidth necesary... pretty cool. What program did you use to make this?

Your signature was pretty basic to produce, although i did have to modify it pixel for pixel, removing the background white and increasing the black intensity

Its really only a two colour transparent gif hence the small file size

The program i use is Adobe Photoshop. An excellent design tool and a must for anyone interested in image manipulation and graphic design work.
If you are interested i would recommend this program above any other on the market. It is the industry standard and comes complete with a very in depth help section and website support.
The program is priced around £500(UK) but there are ways of getting around that hehehehe if you know where to look

Ive spent some time trying to design a signature with the pic you supplied. Ive tried to incorporate it as best as possible. Trying to make it look good was a definite challenge

Thanks URWORSTENEMY - it was most definitely the sig! Thanks for going through all that work - you said that it took pixel-by-pixel modification, so that must have pretty intensive, so thanks!
