Alright so alittle background here: I have this friend of mine whom I met several years back. Sweet girl. We dated for a very short time but figured out that it wasnt going anywhere and that we were just really close friends. Well one day her parents basically told her that I'm not allowed to see her anymore...that was about a year ago. I haven't seen her since. Yesterday I went to take my brother to this conference thingy for highschool kids. He is on staff there so he had to get there early. I use to go to this thing in highschool all the time. It was mad fun, and also where I met this friend. Anyway she showed up because shes still a senior in highschool and it was a really happy reunion. She cried and clung to me for about 20 minutes and then I had to leave so I had to peel her off of me.

but now I'm pissed. I mean seriously she and I are really good friends and I'm SO PISSED that I'm not allowed to go hang out with her. There is no reason for this. Its not like we even did anything while we were dating and her parents CERTAINLY didnt catch us doing anything.

really I just dont get it.

That sucks man, did you ever piss her parents off by doing something? It may well be they just dont want her around a certain kind of guy. I had a friend who loved this girl and her parents didnt want her near him as he was pretty streetwise and they thought he was going to corrupt her.

my parents constantly tried to control my freinds when i was a kid. they never succeeded.

well its a complicated issue. Mostly because she doesn't want to run away. They just about keep that girl on a leash. She only leaves the house when they let her, they TAKE her wherever shes going and they call her up constantly...

I mean yes I could see her but it would be extremely difficult. So much so, that it hasn't happened until now. I mean seriously its crazy. I can't wait for them to start asking who she keeps calling every week cause my number shows up on their cellphone bill frequently. :-\

oh yeah and CDs. I'm not trying to score with this chick. Shes a really good friend, but not like that. The girl(s) I'm trying to score with now ...well I'm bein alot more chill about it. Its alot easier since I'm in college and the ladies I'm after are ALSO in college...and most don't live at home so its all good.

Talk to her PARENTS. ask them why they amde the rule, and what you could do to earn their trust. Sounds corny, but it works, trust me. My girlfriend's mom likes me [and is thus much more "chill" about things], simply cuz she trusts me and I actually talk to her and treat her like family, rather then hating her like a date's mom

Chances are they're afraid of you, and/or your influence over their daughter.

if gemini, after time has gone by as he sugests, has not already taked to her parents thne it seems like it is not that big of an issue to him. if he has talked to them in some sort of a reasonable fashion 7 they have not responded in a positive manner then it does not matter wha the comes across with. if the girl still really wants to see him she will. & if he still really wants to see her he will. just depends on who thinks it is worthwile to sidestep the issues.

well I have talked to them in the past and it got me nowhere. They just said they'd prefer us not hanging around eachother. Now they'll probably say its because I'm in college. Meh.

Anyway I am going to talk to her parents but I gotta talk to her first about it and make sure shes cool with it.

The thing thats crappy about this is that if this were for a girlfriend I might understand. Its not though. Shes just a friend, and yes we dated for a short time but a) her parents dont know that, and b) we still hung out after we broke up. It was awhile later that the shit hit the fan.

Meh.

I just dont think I should have to deal with this so I whine about it.
