The joys of a garage/shed
It has long been said that many a man loves his shed or garage and im no different.
most nights I spend in my garage either tinkering with my motorbikes or just reading the new release of Motorcycle news. Its a little escape from work, computers, the net, the woman in your life and just generally a place to hang out. Damn I just remembered I swore before winter I would get proper heating in here, but ah well I guess maybe next year. Did any of you ever show a picture of your shed or garage to a woman or did you even let one into it? "OMG, what a mess, how the hell do you find ANYTHING in there?".... they just dont get it..... So after my pretty mindless ramble ill leave you with some pictures of my babies. my tuned up scare the shit out of you Yamaha R1 with 190bhp, dynojetted with laser race cans, pirelli dragon corsa super sticky tyres and my other and yet equally as beautiful BMW 1200ST touring sports machine which has all the mod cons for getting to work on a cold morning without feeling like you just spent a night in the north pole, with great screen, heated grips and lovely torque from 2-3,000 RPM, a total mile muncher and so comfortable I swear I actually could sleep on it.... Yes I love my bikes, but I love my garage just as much. Ive solved world problems, thought up new mods for the house, the bikes, my computer as well as spent many an hour cursing something when ive made a mess of it. Hopefully some of you guys know what im talking about, and I guess if you dont then maybe someday you might ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

there is definetely something to be said about a man's garage. I am the same as my father before me. If you need to get away, go to the garage (or in my case, my work room in the basement), and just mess with something in peace.

OMG just about the perfect two bikes. an R1 would just be like a dream come true, how old is that one? i love the new silver\grey paint job on the 2006 model
(from biketest.net)I haven't ben distance on a bike yet, but i should image once i try it on a sports bike i'll want a tourer like the BMW. I know of someone who has a Goldwing and it is the most comfortable thing ever. I say thing because you can't call it a bike! I myself would never get one but i would imagine that BMW to be a pretty sweet alternative. You rock! |

Glad you like the bikes. My R1 is a 2005 model with less than 2000 miles on it atm... The picture you have there is actually the R1 SP and they class the colour as "gun smoke". it is a limited edition with Marchesini wheels, ohlins shock, forks, slipper clutch etc and costs about 5 grand more than the standard model, both this and the regular model have incidentally identical engines - they are charging the extra for the exotic components and many will probably find themselves being raced out of the box with only minor adjustments to the shock damping etc. Who would pay £14,000 for a R1 SP? quite a few people, it was sold out on pre order before it even made it to a limited number of locations.... The R1 is a great bike, it finally replaced my love for honda fireblades - which right now while amazing are a little too perfect for my liking, if that makes sense, honda have taken the bike so far now they are ironing out the character.... As for BMW bike I own, well thats a different beast, its the bike I use for commuting, and touring, and really is a pleasure to ride. You enjoy the scenery more The Honda goldwing you mention is an awesome tourer but like the BMW 1200 LT (luxury tourer), it is a tad bulky for my tastes, with reverse gear and a full onboard CD player with speakers.... probably the ultimate touring bike would be the 1200 RT IMO, it is a perfect touring bike, my tourer is a little more sporty (the ST) because ill not be touring europe, just smaller distances and I want something a little lighter and easier to throw around. You buy a bike yet yourself? |

Wow zardon amazing bikes...
Real beauties ![]() And apart from that, I know what you mean... It's just a place to escape from reality and work and tinker on your hobbies. Well i don't own any supermachine so I don't tinker on bikes but I do alot of DIY for the house and all (or just for fun to see what I can do... Modding for example ) and it just gives you piece and freedom.Never shown it to a gal though... They just don't understand

no i haven't quite purchased a good bike yet. i recently sold my winter bike (1982 suzuki GS250) what a laugh that was. I've been looking around but i have managed to spend alot of my savings with moving into my new place with my girlfriend and building a rig for a mate. although i am due for a pay rise and my mate is paying me back bit by bit for the PC so i should have some cash to spend soon.
I also think if it gets abit warmer and i dont quite have enough cash i will be getting a loan because i can't miss another summer! The only bikes i can find around at a nice price for me are ZX6R's which aren't bad but whether its a good thing or not i've kind of set my heart on a CBR600F for my first 'bigger' bike. i've found one just 30 miles down the road from me which i'll be checking out tomorrow. You do have the ultimate pair though - an amazing high powered sports bike for all the fun you could need and is very sexy! I dont know much about tourers but it sounds and looks to be a comfy long distance ride.

wouldn't mind a shed though, haven't had one since the last move. I've over-run the spare room with guitars and comp bits already, I need room to expand

that reminded me of what under my old house used to look like, random things, bikes etc. But no car, although there was a traktor there… and I lived on a highway in the suburbs… don't quite know why we had that one

the garage, cant really work in there. the pollbarn, beleive it or not, has quite abit of working room in it.
as for the wires, thats all electrical fence for the horses. i guess they dont have very good eye sight, so every 5 feet or so theres some of that marking tape stuff tied to the fence so they can see it.

none of them pictured there. i hope to get the trans am some day, the green F-150 will replace our current F-150 once its titled. the crap car thats coverd with everything on the left will hopefully be sold this year, and my sister gets the caviler on the right this fall.
right now im driveing a 1990 pontiac sunbird, a completly worthless piece of crap. my dads got an older honda enduro bike down here in the basement that id love to get going and start rideing. its ugly as hell and not very powerful, but it would be a great bike to start out on.
