Im a basketball lover and I watch all the shows on sky sports over here in the UK. Any of you guys into basketball? what teams do you all like and players?

I really like the miami heat and big Shaquille oneal, although people say he isnt as good now as he was a few years ago I still think he is a great player.

Other players I like are iverson, nash, duncan, parker, wade, james and allen.

Any of you guys in the states actually go to the live games? id love to hear !

can't afford sky sports , so I've lost touch

I used to be a fanatic when channel 4 had it, but it's all changed since then

Shaq is a hero, hows kobe doing these days, he was really starting to dominate when I lost touch?

Yeah sky sports is costly for sure, I just pay for it cause i love the motorbikes and now they have some really decent basketball coverage.

Kobe bryant is kicking ass, he scored over 70 points in one of the recent matches which is just behind the world record. I didnt get to see that match but next week sky have coverage of the east v west all stars game, its not on till 1am or something but ill set the timer for it, cant wait to see that one.

Nash is my favorite being a Canuk and all. A man his size that dominates the way he does is just insane

Yeah iversen is pretty small (around 6ft), and he basically rules the games too.

Did you see Nash's statistics for free throwing this year? 93% !!!!!

Blazers!

We like to go to the Rose Garden and watch the Blazers here in Portland.

Unfortuntately, they are "rebuilding" this year, and are in last place in the Northwest Division, which only has one team over .500!

kobe got 81 i think it was a few weeks ago....he's definately hot.

As for following b-ball...not as much as I used too.....i just watch it if it's on now a days, but I like duncan, shaq, iverson, lebron james, etc...never cared for Kobe tho...always found him to be a bit of a one man show with no bounce pass

Never really got into basketball, one of the few sports I just can't appreciate. Probably more to do with the personalities and the showboating than the game itself (which is wrong I know). I don't mind watching the old games (back in the 1980's with Jordan, The Mailman, and Bird). I love shooting hoops though, its therapeutic, even thuogh I'm possibly the worst basketball player in the world.

One way that people discuss win-loss records is as a percentage, so if you are "over .500" that means you have won more games than you have lost.

So, when a division has five teams, four of which have lost more games than they have won, well. . .

P.S. Complete standings HERE to see the concept in action.

I'm a fan. I had no idea you were one. I like all the folks you mentioned. Unfortunately, the only Canadian team in the NBA is the Toronto Raptors and well they aren't the greatest, especially their management team. When you trade away Vince Carter for practically nothing, it makes me sad. They did perform a management shuffle, but not before some damage was done.

All Star Weekend is going to be pretty interesting this year. I'm hoping the Dunk Competion won't be lame like last year's "half-dozen" attempts for a lame dunk by Anderson (Who was kicked out of the NBA for drugs)

I'm hoping Phoenix Suns win the Finals this year. They're doing quite well even without Amare Stoudamire!

P.S - Kobe Bryant is definitely a very skilled player. When he scored that 81 and pulled the Lakers out from a defecit of 15+ to win... GG Yeah, there are a few times he should have made a pass instead of going for the fade away, but he nails them and makes it look so easy. I heard MJ wasn't impressed and called him a hog. Currently, the Lakers are 1 game over 500 and have a playoff spot, which means all his "hogging" is paying off.

I'm a basketball lover, and played for a number of years competitively before I entered college. We used to go to a couple of Grizzlies games a year when they were still in vancouver. Basketball games offer some of the best entertainment around; there's always something going on, and some of the best action is after thw whistle blows (acrobats, cheerleaders , mascot, etc)!

As for who I like, I have to go with steve nash as well. A fellow canadian, and is having an mvp type year once again. He's the best pure point guard in the league imo, and his knowledge of the court and where his team mates are is unmatched. Other than him, kobe bryant (wow on that 81 pt game), lebraun james, duane wade, and allen iverson are a lot of fun to watch.
