Lost

Been watching season one since friday, 3 hours left. Personally, i think it's the best thing since sliced bread. Ranks up near 24 on my list. What are your views for those that have seen it?

P.S. - No spoilers please, for the sake of others who havent seen the show

What's to spoil when nothing really happens? I'm kidding but that's the lasting impression I get from the show, being made up of fragmented events that with few exceptions lead nowhere. Though I'm not much for series in general I feelt like Prison Break held it together a bit better.

Well i have to say I loved the first series and was really looking forward to the second series. Overall its been mildy entertaining but a total let down basically.... ill not say anything about it of course but there is very little I could say to ruin tbh. Kate is still nice eye candy though.

Some shows im watching atm

24 series 5 (day 5 - better than I thought it would be).
desperate housewives (still funny as hell).
Sopranos (catching up - awesome).
Battlestar gallatica (yawns).
Smallville (switch brain off, watch, forget, repeat).
Sea of Souls (just started - not bad).
Curb your enthusiasm (just finishing that up, hilarious).
supernatural. (corny but entertaining)
invasion. (slow, slow, slow but still watchable)
Lost Series 2 (any chance of something happening?).

nice choices there. im getting bored with lost and smallville, but i like invasion. always loved 24, and i started watching supernatural and i really like it. curb your enthusiasm is so funny, i love it.

i watched the first season of lost and i enjoyed it, although as people say not much happens. but ive heard things that happen in season 2 and to be honest doesnt sound too good.

I am watching House, Invasion, Desperate crazy whor- I mean Housewives.. And that's about it.

Yeah Invasion is painfully slow, but it's pretty good if you watch every single one and I think I have. I guess I just like those kind if sci-fi shows if they are even half way decent and watchable.

I am still watching episodes of Star Trek Enterprise, but I am not sure if they are old or if they canceled that and are only showing re-runs or what.

I heard 24 is really good, and that Lost is pretty good, but I never watched one episode. For years I never watched any shows like that at all. I used to watch Everybody Loves Raymond once in a while, that was pretty funny sometimes.

EDIT_

I forgot- I have HBO and skin-a-max now.. I have them on demand too- on all three cable boxes. I can watch every episode of the Sopranos from the very beginning I believe. Would that be worth it? (the time I mean)

I'm getting tired of Lost answering one question and creating seven more. I'm at my breaking point for not having anything solved and if they don't sit down and start dropping answers soon I'm just gonna wait and watch it when the season dvds come out so that I don't feel tortured every week.

I think its one of the best tv shows ever so yes I would say its worth it. I like scrubs too but the sopranos is something special, the cast are just Grade A. great dialogue and storyboards.

I don't watch all that much tv, just re-runs of 4 series of star trek on sunday nights, and random movies on the movie channels

Well I cant say I watch TV shows live when its on. I tend to save stuff for when im free and play it via my pc to the dell 37 inch LCD (normally between midnight and 2am ... i watch stuff before bed). I love the american channel HBO, they seem to do the best damn TV shows in the world. I cant get the station in Ireland but most of the shows I get (and love) seem to be aired on that channel. Just tv shows and sports, I actually watch very few movies.

Maybe I will watch the Sopranos.. I have heard good things about it. plus it's basically free for me now. Something to have on in the background while I am on the PC.

I am checking now.. I can watch season 4 and 5 on demand.. and there are a bunch of previews for next season that are a few min. each. Then it has these "mob minutes" that basically gets you up to speed on all the episodes so you know whats going on for next season. Damn they really want people to watch this!

Well if there is nothing on TV (happens a lot) I will be watching the Sopranos.. cool.

I dont think you should jump in at season 4, the whole thing works better if you watch it from the very start of season 1 and work forward...... its a huge storyline.

you guys watch waaay too much TV! I have a hard time with series, for me they're all pretty stupid one way or another.
I watched the first season of 24 and thought it was pretty good for television, but some parts irritated me as they were so totally unrealistic. The more you know the less hollywood crap you can swallow, after all it is aimed at the general ignorant public. I got fed up somtime early in the second season.
Never watched Smallville but it strikes me as just another teen soap opera. My gf likes Desperate Housewives, and from what I've heard while at the keyboard it seems genuinely funny. I've heard the Sopranos is good, but I never got into it and I'm not about to throw away the time. That's the story for the rest of them as well. I feel that the more time spent watching series is just more time wasted. You get nothing from this time, just older.
I caught the premier of Lost and was very impressed (didn't know what it was, just randomly surfing), heard later it had cost a fortune! Being curious I downloaded all the episodes that had already aired in the states. This is of course how you get hooked... Despite the occasional lame episode and events that are sometimes pretty hard to swallow, I find it to be the best TV series I've seen. My favourite type of story is the one where you haven't a clue what's going on until the end, like the first Matrix, mostly because I have the uncanny ability to guess what's going on and ruin it for myself! Of course though, being a TV series they're dragging it out as long as possible, but so far I'm still entertained, and clueless, although I have my suspicions.

you should. One of the strongest points in Scrubs are its characters, and the way the evolve throughout the show.

Funny thing is I am always sitting at my PC- I have a 27 inch TV a few feet away. Rarely do I sit on the couch and do nothing but watch TV, unless I am too tired or in too much pain to sit up in a chair.. in that case I might be out in the living-room, but mostly I will just go to sleep in that case.

I hear you, TV is dumb most of the time, but it can be a good way to relax and unwind. Hey, if you can laugh, or be entertained for a while.. nothing wrong with that.

Agreed, I enjoy the Simpsons and Scrubs, but I don't care if I miss them. I also like more educational shows like they show on the BBC and Discovery. If you're going to veg, at least learn something!

I wonder perhaps if Enterprise will be as sustainable as the previous series...I am a trekkie at heart although I dont use trekkie phrases in formal conversation...I had to give it up when I began to identifie personality traits in my co-workers as Spock Like or Mr. Data like or even Kirk like...I knew then it was time to give up..
But enterprises has such a hottie for a Vulcan character, I sport wood everytime I see her lovely rump and breests....(begin fantasy sequence)...
The show has potentiol really...I will try to watch as much as I can.

Yeah I have all the discovery channels.. the history channels, etc.. I watch that stuff all the time, since it has been in existence actually. They aren't really "shows", but yeah... you can learn quite a bit if you pay attention.

My 2 Fav shows are Lost and 24, although Lost is definitely at the top. I also watch House and Invasion. If you didnt see season 1 of Lost then you are missing alot. The char development in Lost is amazing and there are so many subtle things you almost have to rewatch every episode a few times to catch them all. I do not goto that extreme, but have checked out websites pointing out things and such and its pretty impressive.
24 is also very good, but seems to be getting stale. Its the same stuff every year although this season started out w/ quite a bang.

Do you really think so? I thought 24 series 5 was actually really really good. Its series 2 of Lost that seems stale to me.

just got done watching the last two episodes of Lost last night. Intense!!!. Like somebody said, they answer one question, 7 more arise. So i like a little bit of speculation and mystery and having me be like "wtf?!?!" after every episode.
