NVIDIA to launch Quad-SLI in March

NVIDIA will launch its Quad SLI technology on the 22nd March, according to a report on TGDaily,

Sources indicate that the four-way graphics solution will be announced in conjunction with the GeForce 7900 GTX that is understood to be available from the 9th March if the company's previous track record of hard launches continues.

Dell and NVIDIA showcased the new quad GPU architecture at CES in January, but it seems that Dell's customers will not be the only people who're able to buy into this insane amount of graphics power.

Dell and some of the larger enthusiast-orientated system builders will announce that they're shipping Quad-SLI systems - available in limited quantities - on the 22nd. Along with the OEM strategy, NVIDIA plans to make the platform available to enthusiasts too.

Donator
Uh, this is for those who need bragging rights or ultimate game playing ability. You're obviously not looking at it in that sense. nVidia KNOWS this isn't for the average gamer - even ATI knows thier crossfire isn't for the average or above-average gamer - its for the enthusiasts and the extreme elite (wow 3 e-letter words in a row!)

Verdict:
Unless they're advertising this for the everyday PC user, and are clearly in the wrong, don't criticize what you don't know.

I, for one, am interested in this though it may be a couple months before I can justify it!
