Interesting...
IDE or SATA inside (so ideal for gathering data from an old drive, or equipping with a new SATA drive) USB or SATA outside ... not seen much use of external SATA yet though. Tested in IDE / USB mode, not clear if it allows everything including IDE to SATA. Not having a fan is down as a negative, but a vertical stand aluminiun case will probably run the drive far cooler than the average system box without needing the noisy and barely effective intervention of a weedy little fan.
