Nero Burning Rom 7.0.8.2

Publisher's Description:

Nero is a flexible, reliable, and easy-to-use application designed to write both data and CD audio to CD-R and CD-RW discs. It supports ISO 9660 images as well as ISO mode 1 and XA mode 2, and allows for on-the-fly disc recording in addition to overburning (if supported by hardware). It also supports multisession and mixed-mode recording, HFS, ISO/HFS hybrid, UDF, PSX, OFAS (optimal file access speed), track-at-once (TAO) and disc-at-once (DAO) writing, digital audio extraction, and more. In addition, Nero can dynamically disable automatic-insert notification, offers support for multiple languages, and works with all major models of CD-R and CD-RW drives. This also contains a standalone Cover Editor for designing and printing CD covers.

support for this product is ridiculous ... no help whatsoever, no responses from their support teams... ARGH.

Anybody else get an installation error (code 2755) no matter what? I've tried numerous times, including closing ALL programs (MSN, Kaspersky etc...) and removing any traces of nero on my computer (reg, ccleaner, etc...) .... I still get the same error code and now it does it even for older versions that I try to install.... DAMNIT.

"The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2755."

problem is I get the same error msg with ALLLLLLLL install packages (old and new neros)

...

That sounds like something on your machine is borked, time for a reformat by the sounds of it...

I've given up on Nero now. I used to use it a lot, but I do most of my burning with k3b now, much simpler and easier and faster...

I have a DVD dual layer burner which will burn CD's at 40x speed. Under Nero I can burn at a maximum of 8x with 40x media in the drive, k3b burns at up to 41x with the drive.

k3b eh... google time... thanks. I've managed to move from Nerovision to Cucusoft's AVI to DVD burner (Xvid to DVD format) and it works fine .... I'll look up this K3B cuz I have the same problem (I use BenQ 16X DVD-R's on my 8X drive (DVD+-R) but it only burns at 4X ... Nero?)

Sorry k3b is part of the KDE project for Unix/Linux desktops, although KDE are working on a Windows version of the desktop, so I guess you might be able to use it on Windows one day.

It is one of the better burners out there and makes Nero seem overly complicated.

Nero 6 and Nero 7 are two different products.

I guess it's hard to read these days ... (geez...) but I said I'VE USED NERO 7 FOR MONTHS NOW and it worked fine ... but the latest version's install package seems to have messed up the way nero installs itself... here's the explanation again:

Nero 6 works fine for years
Nero 7 works fine from day 1 (beta) until the day before the newest version (see topic title) comes out
I install Nero 7, installation fails (see error code in previous posts)
I uninstall Nero, re-install, uninstall, clear my registry, disable all programs including virusscanner etc.... and try again, same error code.
I reinstall Nero 6.6.0.16 (last Nero 6 version), and everything works fine.
Every single other application on my computer works 100%. Windows Installer works fine too.

I guess I'll wait for Nero's assistance.

my bad there's a Nero 6.6.1.4 version that came out at the end of January (Nero 7 was already out...weird) so I'll see if that one suits my needs... the installation worked btw Nero 7 Installer Package = Faulty.
