Microsoft Sues eBay Software Pirates

Microsoft announced Wednesday it had filed lawsuits against eight eBay sellers in an effort to curb counterfeit software sales. The company alleges the sellers auctioned off illegal copies of its software to unsuspecting buyers.

The lawsuits were filed against sellers in Arizona, Connecticut, Florida, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Nebraska, New York and Washington.

Well the whole thing about ebay is to sell used stuff anyways, so whats the problem? If you don't need it anymore. 200/300$ for windows os you bet ppl will be selling it on ebay. Takes a chunk out of the wallet. Spent half my paycheck on XP and its really nice but its not worth 200/300$ bucks. More like 80 bucks and 5 year warranty like a harddrive.

They need to be sueing ebay................ they need to wake up and "act on things"
have an ACTIVE role in thier own site other then collecting thier "fees".

They aren't suing people who sell used copies of windows/ MS software are they?

I figured it would be only people who sell "copies" of software.. That I agree with..
If I made a bunch of copies of my windows CD and sold them on E-bay, I would expect to be sued. If I sell a USED copy, that is completely different.
