Due to the increasing performance of graphics cards, the demand for better GPU cooling started increasing since the year 2004. Popular cooling manufacturers came out with various cooling solution for high-end graphics cards and we also saw GPU coolers with integrated heatpipes. A popular GPU cooler known as the Silencer from Arctic Cooling is currently one of the best performing air-cooled GPU coolers out in the market. Their latest Accelero GPU cooler with heatpipe technology was another leap forward in GPU cooling as it is currently the best air-cooled solution for your GPU. Nevertheless, some enthusiasts may resort to water-cooled solution for their graphics card. Water-cooled solution gives better cooling performance but it is a lot more complicated than air-cooled solution. A typical water-cooled GPU will share the same water-cooling loop with the CPU (and even motherboard chipset), which means the GPU water block is linked with the GPU water block by tubes. This hardens the installation especially when mounting/removing the graphics card water block. Things tend to get a little out of control for users with dual graphics setup such as SLI or CrossFire.
