Chinese battery maker disputes US safety claims

BEIJING (Reuters) - A Chinese company whose batteries were cited by a U.S. consumer safety panel as part of a DVD player recall said on Tuesday it had not yet been proved that its products were used in the machines.

The company, McNair Technology Co Ltd. based in the southern province of Guangdong, said it also had not been notified of any alleged problems with its batteries.
