The latest installment in the saga of Apple v. Does took place in San Jose last week, but the story had its beginning in 2004. Then, PowerPage and AppleInsider published details concerning an unreleased product codenamed "Asteroid," including a highly detailed and accurate drawing. Apple Computer promptly filed a lawsuit against the "anonymous" individuals who leaked that information to the web sites and subpoenaed Jason O'Grady of PowerPage. Claiming protection under journalist shield laws, O'Grady went to court, but Judge James Kleinberg of the Superior Court of Santa Clara County issued a tentative ruling in March 2005 that rejected that claim.
