Verizon said Monday that it has increased the speed of its fibre-optic (FiOS) service to homes in the New York, New Jersey and Connecticut states without raisng the price.

The company didn't say when the upgrades for current customers would take place, but said that new customers are being offered a tier upgrade for the price formerly charged for the lower rung of service.
