Second-tier LCD TV vendors are suffering from increased inventory levels in the Europe market, as first-tier LCD TV vendors such as Sharp, Philips, Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics and Sony are adopting more aggressive pricing strategies in the region, according to market sources.
Competition in the Europe LCD TV market is rather intense at the moment, as first-tier vendors continue to compete on pricing. The strategy has made it difficult for second-tier and white box vendors to expand their market share and remain profitable, according to Frank Lee, president and chief operating officer (COO) of Syntax-Brillian.
