Having problems with your 7900 card?

Hardocp published a very interesting article today after speaking with Nvidia and some company representatives who sell preoverclocked Nvidia 7900 series cards. It appears some of them may be pushing the limits a little too far.

It certainly makes you wonder if Nvidia should have had more control over this situation in the first place.

"I know that there are an elevated number of GeForce 7900 failures in the field among overclocked retail video cards. I know that NVIDIA is firmly placing the blame on the retailers overclocking the cards “too far.” I also know that of all the major retailers selling the overclocked 7900 cards, none of them are backing off on their overclocking specifications they had on the cards previous to the problem arising. Only EVGA is changing the process for qualifying the overclocked 7900 cards. "

That's why I am just going to get a regular 7900GTX... it will still probably OC pretty high anyway, just cost 100 dollars less.

BWX unplugged Join Date: Nov 2002 Location: USNY Posts: 19,669 Rep Power: 110 System Specs	That's why I am just going to get a regular 7900GTX... it will still probably OC pretty high anyway, just cost 100 dollars less. __________________
