Well, I don't even have an HDTV yet. I am just going to sit on the sidelines and see what happens with HD-DVD and Blu-Ray. So far, I have seen that most retailers can't keep HD-DVD players on the shelves. I am betting that in 6-9 months you will see more studios making the other format available. Companies are in business to make money and it doesn't make sense not to make movies in both HD-DVD and Blu-Ray.

IMO, $500 is a lot to pay for HD-DVD and $1000 is definitely way too much. Thank goodness for early adopters though!

I do expect to move to HD-TV sometime soon. I have been following DLP technology for a time and I am waiting for the next gen of DLP before I jump on board. I will probably just stick with DVD for another 2-3 years after that while I complete the smart home wiring in my house and upgrade my home theater's speakers.
