New popup blocker is great, blocks a certain type of popup that was getting through on 8.5.
Not a fan of the widgets; seems very gimmicky like most firefox plugins. The custom content blocker is really cool, too. Right click on a page and go to "Block content...". The interface is a little unintuitive but I like the idea.

Thanks for the info on how to disable the bit torrent client, much appreciated and I can now switch back to my favorite browser
However a small problem still exists when I set it to always refresh docs and images; some sites simply do not work. I guess 5 minutes will have to do. If anyone wants to test this set the two options in Advanced/History to always and visit a site like fileplanet. However, please don't do so if you are epileptic

Why would you want images to check on every visit? Do you visit sites where images at the same place/of the same name on the sight change really frequently.
I have mine set to every week for images, and always for documents, but I try to save on bandwidth, being on dial-up.

Just let opera do it's thing. It's really good at managing the cache.

Well, I've noticed that at default settings it does not refresh pages at all while you revisit at a later time forcing me to refresh manually(really suxs with forums). Also after using it today I remembered why I stopped using it; it simply kills my connection. For example if I have Azureus doing it's thing and I try surfing around my network controller craps out losing all connection forcing me to restart or wait a few minutes for it to come back to life. I do not get this with firefox and for the life of me I cannot figure out why opera does this. I do like it more than firefox but I simply cannot use it. I use the marvel controller on my board but it also does it with the nvidia one(both built in to the mobo) |
