Foxconn: iPod factories get Apple approval

Apple Computer sent a special team overseas to investigate claims of unfair work environments within the Chinese manufacturing facilities that build its iPod digital music players but has found no problems, says Foxconn, the owner of facilities.

According to a report by China CSR, Foxconn spokesperson Li Zong said the original equipment manufacturer's (OEM) complicated salary structure has caused misunderstanding among the media.

huh... and i read news that foxconn said the working conditions where worse then allowed in china with 80 hours overtime!!!?????????

if ipods are built using slave labour, then why in the hell do they cost so much

don't kid yourselves! all major corporations use slave-like labor conditions in poor countries to produce their merchandise and then sell them for the max profit possible. the biggest joke is that most people don't even realise it and are happy to pay whatever for something marketed as cool. why do you think prices vary between countries? they just choose the price they figure people are willing to pay in each country, no other reason.
