exclamation nVidia cheating on drivers for a benchmark it says isn't any good? I'm confused.

There is a thread over at futuremark about some troubles with 3dm2k3 and some of the newest detonators...it seems that the 42.86 set scores a lot better at 3dm2k3, but misses some details to do so...like explosions and bullets and little things like that.

It could just be an honest bug with the drivers, but peeps have been testing it out and it looks like sets after the 41.09 set seem to cheat a little at 3dm2k3....

Just what nVidia needs today before their conference call, eh?

Big ups and thanks to creedamd at nVnews.net for pointing this out to me.

Yeah, I totally noticed this last night. I ran 3DMark03 first with 42.30 drivers, looked nice, ran slow. Ran the 42.86 and ran slightly smoother and I saw less detail. I mean in the space benchmark when the guns would fire there would be little to no muzzle flash detail, whereas the 42.30 had much more detail in the muzzle flash. Seems odd. Bad nVidia, bad!

EEK! OMFG! Think that's big?

I ran 3dm2k3 and got a 1069 on Bubbles using the 42.70 set, but then I renamed "3DMark03.exe" to "3DMuck03.exe" and only got a 1048!

Thanks for getting the funny, I was afraid with the way me luck has been going lately that I'd open up the Inquirerer later and read; "New Quake Quack Mark Muck brought to light by the Dig, follow the link to read more!" , or something truly anti-serendipitous such as that.

Is it Friday yet?

Try it on a ati with with cat 3.1's you get the same suprize only larger

I been Investagating /testing ... I scored higher with 42.68 but was buggy as hell ... tried 42.86 again lost 40 3dmarks but eveything was smooth again .. no bugs lines squares as in that new re-release of 42.68
