When choosing a keyboard, you have a lot of options. People need to decide for themselves between models which are wireless, ergonomic, media enhanced, low profile, illuminated, and so on. While all of these options are useful in some way or another, few of them actually help the user type faster. The goal of the original Das Keyboard was to eliminate the characters from the keys so that the user would give up their reliance on the characters and eventually be able to type faster than ever. While this was a somewhat novel idea, the original Das Keyboard was expensive and did not offer a keyboard which was different enough to justify the cost.

Strange keyboard.But i do see the point they made about the memorised layout saving some time for the extreme gamers.
