Illinois Aims To Protect Consumer Privacy, Outlaws "Pretexting"

Source: Yahoo! News
__________
Illinois became one of the first states in the nation to make it illegal to pretend to be an account holder in order to gain cell phone records and other personal information, according to the Electronic Privacy Information Center.

EPIC praised Gov. Rod R. Blagojevich this week for signing a law outlawing the practice as part of the state's ongoing efforts to protect consumer privacy.
