The 5-foot tall HRP-2 Promet that wowed us almost two years ago with its ability to lie down, get back up and carry objects has a tiny little brother, the HPR-2m Choromet.

Just 35 centimeters tall, the Linux-based Choromet looks very much like its more powerful predecessor. It was developed by General Robotix, Inc, Moving Eye, Inc., Pirkus Robotix, Inc. and Dai Nippon Technical Research Institute, a consortium of companies that accepted a technology transfer from the Japanese government-backed National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST).
