Viisage to buy iris recognition tech company for $35 mln

July 17 (Reuters) - Viisage Technology Inc. on Monday said it agreed to acquire privately held iris recognition technology company Iridian Technologies Inc. for $35 million in cash.

Viisage, a provider of identification technology, also said it secured a $6.5 million reduction in potential contingency payments to SecuriMetrics Inc. under the terms of its February 2006 acquisition of that company.
