GTR 2 Demo Friday

GameSpot announces they will debut the demo for GTR 2, Bugbear's upcoming racing sequel, with a countdown timer that puts the demo release at Noon Eastern time Friday. Word is: "The GTR 2 demo (512 MB) gives you the chance to drive one of two FIA-GT class cars against up to 15 computer-controlled opponents at the Barcelona GP circuit."

This looks like it might be pretty good.. especially graphically with the rain and reflections and whatnot.. Nice models and nicely detailed 3D cockpits too by the looks of it.

Does anyone know if it will be Starforced? I sure as hell hope not. I haven't been able to find out.

SecuROM I guess is what they use.. not great still.. but a lot better than StarForce.

Anyway.. I am really impressed by this demo.

I cranked all settings to max in-game and running at 1600 x 1200 - 2xAA, multisampling transparency AA, 16x full quality AF.. (no optimizations) "high quality" image settings etc.... It looks awesome.

I have only run time trials in the rain so far, with one car and a ghost, and frames are really smooth.. not sure how fast yet, but must be well over 75.

Going to try running with 15 AI and see how it goes.. If it is too much for my OC'd 7900GTX I'll have to tweak some of the settings down a notch I guess..
