DH Review: Zalman CNPS8000 & CNPS 9500

Read the review here
_____________

Zalman really need no introduction, they have been making high quality, low noise cooling solutions for a very long time. Today we are having a look at two of their latest offerings; the CNPS8000 and the CNPS9500.

great review

i have the original cnps9500, the one with the blue leds, they've obviously updated it a little, mine had a very slightly warped contact plate, so it wouldn't make full contact with the cpu, and the fan died a few months ago (on the stock cooler now)

Looking forward to see what zalman comes up with for the conroe and when they are going to release the 9700 model, which should be with a 9500 with 120mm cooler.

Or something smaller, since the Conroe is many times more efficient.

Hell, I won't be buying a Conroe because I need to keep my P4-D for cooler testing!

i used the intel 775 vers of the 9500 on my 940. while VERY quiet it did not cool any better than the stock intel cooler. my alphacool h2o cooling fixed those problems
i am going to put that zalman on my wifes intel 630 were it will do just fine. & probably let me get it past the 3.6 it is already at.
cant beleive how hot those intel 900 series run.

If you don't want to consider the Zalman as an alternative for your AM2 setup I can highly recommend the Noctua NH-U9 And NH-U12 previously reviewed here on DH. The NH-U12 is the strongest CPU cooler I've tested bar none, and they are both compatible with AM2.
Since you're in the UK I recommend checking them out at QuietPC

Fanless? You can put the fan of your choise on the Noctua...
Anyway you can't go wrong with the Zalman either, it's a great performing HSF.
