Phones and MP3s fuel robbery rise

A rise in young people carrying mobile phones and MP3 players is being blamed for street robberies and muggings jumping by 8% last year.

The latest crime figures include a 10% rise in gunpoint robberies.

But the government says the statistics show both violent crime and crime overall has remained "stable".

They come as Home Secretary John Reid unveiled plans to "rebalance" the criminal justice system away from offenders in favour of crime victims.

The police force Will blame everything & anything possible to divert from the main reason mobiles & mp3's are being stolen. The Lack Of any police patrols on the streets of the UK And the total disrespect of the police force themeselves.

One of my best Friends was jumped by a gang of youths and had the sh*t kicked out of him,Another of my Friends was with him at the time ran like hell and was able to phone for police support,his reply was "sorry we are under staffed and is unable to assit we apologise for the inconvenience." WTF.!!

The main concern in the uk is to capture speeding motorists with cameras (easy targets for an easy revenue) With an instant £60 fine and 3 points on you're licence.

In the last year from what i have seen on the streets:

On Patrol (Routine Policing) 1 : Mobile Speed Cameras 30 + (& that don't count the static cameras)

Yet our taxes go up year in year out to pay for the police force.... What police Force i'd say.
