Intel says to ship new desktop, laptop chips in Aug

TOKYO (Reuters) - Intel Corp., the world's largest semiconductor maker, said on Thursday it plans to start shipping new processors for desktop and laptop computers in August.

Intel has been losing market share in computer processors to rival Advanced Micro Devices Inc., but analysts say Intel will likely regain the technology crown with the new chips. The company is counting on the all-new designs to halt several quarters of falling sales and profits.

ANOTHER WEEK ......................intel you suck.............................

GRRR! Knowing everyone was waiting for the relese TODAY, prevouly the 25th?
what is this? forced antisipation? Due to thier pushing them back? antisipate this, I'm
probubly going to end up buying an AMD CPU insted.. I will reconsider my choice
but I can probubly have and CPU and mobo and be useingthe system before they
actually "ship"... ARG!!! was planning on switching one rig to intel , now looks like
an am2 upgrade....

What I've heard is that Intel is holding back the release to coincide with Apple's release of their C2D work stations.

there was an ealier delay that was supposed to be so they and 965 could ship
at the same time... when will the excuses end? my guess is they are trying to
pump out as many as fast they can, and yield have been low . So a few days will
mean alot more cpu's to sell, I have a funny fellibg thier siceing the goudgeing thats
about to insue if these chips are in as short supply as i'm reading....
