Back in January, when winter was in full force, we reviewed Oakley's THUMP 2 glasses; their latest MP3 playing eyeware. The THUMP 2 were a major improvement over the original THUMP's (which we also reviewed here). Today we have the newest item out of Oakley's electronic eyeware line up, the O ROKR. The name is awfully similar to the ROKR cell phone from Motorola and for good reason. The O ROKR doesn't actually contain any storage within itself but rather uses Bluetooth 2.0 technology to connect to other Bluetooth enabled devices that in turn will be the source of audio. The O ROKR were designed to work with the Motorola ROKR phone and its Bluetooth capabilities. Of course Bluetooth is a standard so the O ROKR will also work with any other Bluetooth enabled device. We are guessing that Motorola partnered with Oakley to create the O ROKR's and when looking at the fact that Motorola actually provides the warranty on the glasses, this guess seems to be accurate. This partnership makes sense since Motorola might just know a little something about making Bluetooth headsets.
