It's a hard life, being an adventurer. I don't mean the slogging through dungeons, facing unthinkable dangers and obstacles in the small hope that maybe, maybe you'll find some priceless trinket or valuable weapon. No, I mean all the down time in between raids, waiting for something interesting to happen. Neverwinter Nights has two expansions and a thriving mod community, but my +5 sword of magnificentness was still getting rusty and I was beginning to question my dedication a life of dungeon crawling. Thankfully, Atari has come to my emotional rescue with a closed public beta test for
Neverwinter Nights 2. Using the so-called "3.5 edition" Dungeons & Dragons rules, NWN 2 will offer up the expected multiplayer gameplay, the toolset for crafting your own adventures, and a slightly beefier single-player campaign, an oft-criticized aspect of the first Neverwinter. They even threw in a brand-new 3D graphics engine, just because they like you.
