Here at BFR we've had the chance to review two of Samsung's color laser printers, namely their CLP-510N and CLP-550. At the time of reviewing those printers, which was over a year ago, they were darn good machines in terms of print quality and speed. However, the 5 color pages per minute (ppm) speed the CLP-550 has is no longer as impressive as it once was. As with everything in the computer, printers have become faster and more efficient which is why today we have Samsung's newest in their CLP (Color Laser Printer) lineup that boasts a speedy 20 ppm color speed. This is a 400% increase in color print speed over the course of 1-2 years.
The CLP-650N is Samsung's flagship color laser printer and features many improvements over the CLP-550 model. Aside from the increase in print speed, the 650N also contains more memory (256MB vs 64MB) and is 14lbs lighter (64lbs vs 77lbs) than the CLP-550.
