'Sopranos' elbowing its way onto HD DVD

"The Sopranos" is poised to become the first TV series to be released on high-definition video discs.

HBO Video said Wednesday that its first release on the nascent HD DVD format will be "The Sopranos: Season 6, Part 1," arriving in stores Nov. 7, the same day as the standard DVD.

The high-definition edition will cost $129, or $30 more than the standard DVD version.
