In the 22nd century, the polar ice caps don't melt... they expand at an alarming rate! By 2142, most of the planet is covered in glacier as a new Ice Age sets in. What little fertile land that's left has to be fought over, since the Earth is no longer capable of producing enough food to support its inhabitants.

In Battlefield 2142, you step into this conflict as a soldier for either the European Union or Pan Asian Coalition in a war for survival. Having covered World War II, Vietnam, and a fictional setup for Modern Combat, the Battlefield steps into the future with this sci-fi multiplayer shooter! Although there will be high-tech weapons, they won't be completely alien and unfamiliar. The majority of them will be futuristic versions of modern weapons, including assault rifles, shotguns, sniper rifles and rocket launchers. Instead of trying to reinvent the wheel, the developers (DICE) will focus on including new features on them. For example, the rocket launcher can be set so that the rocket will explode after traveling a specific distance, allowing you to guide it and take out people hiding behind walls or corners. Knifing someone to death will earn you their dog tags as a trophy, and the tracking system keeps on persistent record of all the people you managed to take out face-to-face.

God I wish EA would STOP with the expansions and conentrate on the "bugs" wh thier existing games?
