DRAM module maker Walton Chaintech recently said it will enter the NAND flash market while planning to launch a second brand for the entry-level PC module market, according to the Chinese-language Apple Daily.
Walton Chaintech will wait until the NAND flash prices become stable before it enters the NAND flash market, with future testing, packaging and module assembly to be done by its parent company Walton Advanced Engineering, the company was quoted as saying.
The DRAM module business currently accounts for half of Chaintech's sales and the proportion of its memory products will be increased significantly in the future, with its motherboard business to be gradually phased out, the paper indicated.
