I'm presently downloading this but not sure about installing it until I read up on how well it's performing for others.

The download manager they recommend for the 2.56 GB file is a good idea.

thats good,but i was the same under the last available version.i found the download much faster direct & avoided the download manager which for me was much slower.

I am avoiding this one as i found vista not only taken an eternity to install but the performance was also very slow.

Besides looking at a few other news sources this build of vista is only available to the first 100,000 downloads then the servers are locked.How true this is i don't know.

I did get the entire 2.56 GB. So, I'm going to burn it to DVD and hang on to it for now.

Anyone know how long the OS is good for once its installed?

I have heard its only good for 14 days.

If you have a valid cd-key, I believe its for quite awhile. Atleast 6 months.

I am downloading now but still cant figure out where to get the cd key from, I looked where the download place sent you but darned if I could find it

Someone tell me about this CD-KEY issue. I don't see anything on the download site other than 'signatures' that indicate anything remotely related to needing a CD-KEY. There are no links from the download site to anything other than the Download Manager and/or the direct download.

Where are you seeing any links for the CD-KEY?

Do you have to commence the installation to get that?

Right after the desription on the review page it says you need to obtain a cd and it gives you the link for it but I sure cant find the cd key.

The only limitation I see is that it will expire on June 1, 2007. That 'should' give plenty of time for the official release to come out prior to that.

cant remeber where i read but it says you don't need a key for this release but i'm not sure because i used the key i got for Beta 2 and that activated fine
