K-Lite Codec Pack is a collection of codecs and related tools. Codec is short for Compressor-Decompressor. Codecs are needed for encoding and decoding (playing) audio and video. This Codec Pack is designed as a user-friendly solution for playing all your movie files. You should be able to play all the popular movie formats and even some rare formats.

This is a cumulative update for the latest version of the K-Lite (Mega) Codec Pack.

Latest Changes:
-Improved Codec Tweak Tool: It is now possible to enable/disable each codec/filter that has been installed by KLCP
-DivX [version 6.2.5.34]
-x264 [rev. 558]
-LAME MP3 ACM codec [version 3.97b3]
-LAME CLI and DLL [version 3.97b3]
-LameDropXPd [version 3.97b3]

I used K-lite pack during my dark past. Now I've been using combined community codec pack(cccp) for a year or two. How fares K-lite nowadays? I had some problems with ac3(dolby) passthrough to home theater while I still used it. Perhaps I just try it out once again.

K-lite Mega Codec Pack + this = seem to work like a charm with everything I've watched. Now it even automatically detects ac3 as a passthrough and mp3 for example as a pcm; nice.
