RD600 ready in October but not welcome

Rumors are floating around the web at several motherboard makers are not going to use the RD600 series of chipsets from ATI later this year as they don't want to strain their relationship with Intel.

Right now one of the few companies that said they will go ahead and make an RD600 board is DFI.

Asus isn't going to put out an ATI chipset? They've always had at least one ATI solution in their lineup.

I find its correct... This whole merger is putting a lot of strain and the RD600 is coming out too late anyways to be honest. We'll see what actually happens.

I've never used a board with an Ati chipset,but I'm waiting for the NV590 Intel series to hit the market.

Everyone always talks about how integrated graphics are terrible. ATI integrated graphics are just as good as their expansion slot brethren. I have an integrated 9100 on this mobo and it played Halo with everything on high at 800x600 with 30+ fps. Of course it took out a good chunk of my ram, but that always happens for integrated cards.

ATI's onboard solutions are great yes, but nothing steller by far... They are the BEST choice imo if you NEED to go intergrated, intels solutions are crap and the Via S3 and any other are generally junk (i found nvidias IGP solution wasn't to great but it was ahead of intel by far still)

Why would boards not want to make boards with this chipset? Intel still "is" content with ati so far

and intel is.....but microsoft has been for years and it's served them damned well....

intel has all the leverage in the world, and AMD is on thin ice, especially after coming up with all that cash to buy ATi
