ECS Announce PX1 Intel® VIIV™ Ready Motherboard with Intel® P965 Chipset

Elitegroup Computer Systems, Inc. (ECS), a leading computer hardware and notebook manufacturer, is releasing the RoHS compliant PX1 motherboard with embedded Intel® P965 Broadwater chipset featuring Core™ 2 Duo CPU support and next-generation micro-architecture (NGMA).

The PX1, based on P965 chipset and Core™ 2 Duo CPU support, offers great performance with lower power consumption, Hyper-Threading Technology and Fan Speed Control (AFSC) Tuning Optimization, making the PX1 ideal for a smaller, quieter and more energy efficient system. The PX1 includes eSATA support and Intel® Matrix Storage Technology (MST) for high levels of internal and external hard drive protection, performance and upgradeability. For the ultimate multimedia experience for years to come, the PX1 is completely Windows Vista Home Premium ready.

The PX1 is an ideal base for building a complete entertainment system that can do anything you can imagine with Intel® Viiv™ technology, including building and organizing video content, digital photos, music libraries, sharing digital content over networks, gaming and even recording TV programs live from satellite. With a focus on functionality and ease of use, the PX1 puts a whole world of digital home entertainment right at your fingertips. The PX1’s I/O interface includes an onboard eSATA, offering up to 6 times faster external storage when compared to traditional external drives like USB 2.0, and provides an outstanding solution for a multimedia data bank.

ECS introduces innovative technologies with the PX1, including ECS’ Qoolteck technology. Triple Cooling uses a special heat pipe design to effectively direct heat from the southbridge, northbridge and mosfet out of the chassis for better heat management, increased performance and cooler operation.

The PX1 adopts Intel® Memory Pipeline Technology to support DDR2 SDRAM in dual channel mode clocked at up to 800MHz, surpassing the previous benchmark of 667MHz. Other integrated features include 2 x PCI-E x16 slots, 2 x PCI-E x 1 slots, 10 x USB 2.0, 6 x Serial ATA support for the fastest file transfer rate, high-definition 8-channel ALC885 audio, dual Gigabit LAN controllers for fast network connectivity, and a BIOS that supports a wide range of overclocking options.
