Laser TVs Set to Take Down Plasma

While the majority of us are enjoying (or dreaming of) brand new HDTV LCD or plasma displays to go along with our next-generation machines, a small group of companies are on the cusp of finalizing a technology that will make even the newest TV sets of today seem absolutely dim.

Sweet. But I wounder how many people would be willing to spend a high price tv when everything else is coming down like a rock? I guess if the tv's are so amazing lol. Thats a guess it will be a lot but I would think it has to be.

yes, because there is so much HD content out there.....honestly to this point HD is a gimmic IMO for the average Joe. While I want an HDTV, there really isn't a whole lot of HD content from what I have noticed.

Most of the US broadcast are still standard Def.

Ah yes, just like we're all using HD OLED Tvs now, you know the one that were gonna be cheaper and better looking...

My father still has the same TV he had like from 8 years ago. It was the biggest Tube TV at the time (projection sucked) and has still been goin strong. Everytime I ask him about getting a HD TV he responds with "Why the hell would I do that? This one works just fine, its been a damned good TV for how long we have had it".

So yea, HD is not even a standard yet. All these commercials with the average joe putting down 5g on a new tv for a football game are utter bullsh*t. The same train of thought holds with all of my friends parents and all of my neighbors.

I don't see HD being an absolute standard for TV till at least 2010.
