Microsoft is a company that has dealt with one security challenge after another over the years. This in and of itself would have been considered a little bit more tolerable had Microsoft not made such a huge deal with Windows XP as the most secure Windows OS in the market.

Because of this arrogance, Windows users have come to rely on third party software products from McAfee and Symantec. Love them or hate them, the fact remains that without their software, the number of virus infestations roaming around the Internet today would have been much worse than anything we have seen thus far.
