Logitech Z-680 Speakers Review

Well if you’re not running 5.1 speakers yet, this review may not be for you. You’re about to embark on a journey filled with info on one of the hottest 5.1 sets manufactured for computers. Now don’t get me wrong; this set can be used for your home theatre and hooked right up to your Pre Amp, Receiver or DVD Player just as easily however the set is marketed to computer users. Logitech, a company well known for its computing peripherals, has taken a seat at the top of the food chain with products like the MX500 and MX700 mice, Elite Keyboard and their very well known Z-560 4.1 speaker set. We’re going to dive into the 500 Watt Z-680’s that are THX® Certified, and include Digital & DTS® Hardware Decoding.

I am an absolute audiophile. My home theatre is my pride and joy. You can find me planted on the couch every Friday at 8pm ctl to watch my favorite program, Stargate SG-1 while listening to the sounds of Tokra Transports flying by and Zats knocking people unconscious through my B&Ws. Unfortunately Showtime dropped the series and The Sci-Fi channel picked it up. I say unfortunately because Sci-Fi isn’t in Dolby Digital®L

I also love it when I finally get a chance to sit back, without the kids around, and play my favorite tunes. I’ve never been much of a fan of PC speakers but do listen occasionally while at my PC for some background noise. Let’s see if the Z-680’s can change my mind.

Donator
Big Grin DUDE!!! I could really piss off the neighbors with those...lol

Pretty impressive set of speakers for a PC. A frag fest at 2 a.m. with the sound at 3/4 volume would certainly go over well with the neighbors...heh.
