U.S. control of Internet remains touchy

Source: MSNBC
________
ATHENS, Greece - An international dispute over U.S. control of the Internet appears unlikely to be resolved even as state envoys, regulators and technology experts convene next week to discuss the network's future.

"Such negotiations are difficult ... this will take time. There are many countries which all have their own interests and opinions," Greek Transport Minister Michalis Liapis said Thursday. "We are starting a dialogue which I think will take many years."

"their own interests and opinions" :roll eyes: it's called we want in on your stuff,
and to add rules and impose regulations, monitor and limit traffic, impose fee's etc..
It's all about power and money... we have it they want it...same old...

Who owns it? Who created it....? daunt DA dunnnnnaaa... the USA

I just wish we could cut of the spam capitols of the world.... or at least chose to block
email from outside the USA. 94% of my spam comes from Russia, china/japan/Korea area,
and maybe 5% for the European reagon...and 1% from the African region.

Neon, the internet should never been "owned" by any country.

And i don't think the US created it solely at all.

TheBlackCat is an unknown quantity at this point

Just make it owned by a neutral third party. It is not like that is so hard. The U.S. is in a position of power and wants to keep that power. Everyone else wants the power taken away and given to a group not affiliated with any country. I think that is very reasonable, control over the internet is a power no country should have.
