Firefox 2: 2 Million Downloads in a Day

Mozilla said that downloads for the second version of its Firefox browser reached two million in the first 24 hours, or more than 30 downloads per second. The rate of downloads compare to one million in the first 24 hours with the first version of Firefox, and 1.5 million with Firefox 1.5. The latest version of Firefox adds enhancements such as a phishing filter, a retooled user interface, and performance improvements.

I'm still waiting for it to be available when I click "check for updates". Is that going to happen or will it not work that way for version 2?

You will have to uninstall Firefox 1.5 then install Firefox 2. There isn't an update through "Check for Updates". If you don't uninstall 1.5 and just install 2 there will be two versions shown under Add/Remove Programs. You won't loose your profile if you uninstall either.

Yeah, but it may be a good idea to back up your profile just in case (just copy it to a different directory).
