Last week's unveiling of the first DirectX 10 graphics card—and the first radically new GPU architecture in years—was a pretty big event. Nvidia's 8th-generation GPU is the first to offer full support for DirectX 10, months ahead of the official release date of Windows Vista (which you'll need to use DX10). It utilizes a more efficient unified shader architecture that not only makes games run crazy fast, but should be excellent for performing general-purpose computation on the graphics cards as well.
